Suspect, 18, charged with Parsons Green terror attack

London - The 18-year-old arrested after the Parsons Green bombing has been charged.

Naming the suspect as Ahmed Hassan, Scotland Yard confirmed the 18-year-old has been charged in connection with the Parsons Green Tube terrorist attack.

He has been charged with attempted murder and possessing explosives over the Parsons Green Tube terrorist attack.

Hassan, of Sunbury, in Surrey, is accused of attempting to murder people travelling on a District Line train in last Friday’s bombing, Scotland Yard said.

He could also face a charge of using a chemical compound known as TATP to cause an explosion likely to endanger life.

Hassan was arrested in Dover, Kent, at approximately 07:50hrs on Saturday, 16 September.

Three other males, aged 25, 30 and 17, have been detained by police under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.

A further two men aged 48 and 21 were released from police custody on Thursday, 21 September, with no further action.

Searches are ongoing at one address in Surrey and two in Newport, Wales.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday afternoon.
